This course is intended either for staff fully supervised at all times or for the trainee within the first few days of commencing work and before the time could be given to take a Level 2
It s available as both a distance learning book or as an online course taking about 1 hour to complete.
The course is not designed to assess academic ability but to develop a basic awareness of food safety matters.

The course complies with the legal requirements placed on businesses to train food handlers, and has several additional modules written specifically for the mobile catering sector
A multi choice test is set at the end of each of the modules, which has to be passed before progressing onto the next.
This provides an independent verification that the candidate has read and understood the course content. Once completed the candidate will be asked to either send in 2 passport photographs or upload a head and shoulders image of themselves that will be laminated onto the certificate.
The course notes can be downloaded and printed a module at a time.
There is no time limit on the completion of the course and users once registered can gain access to their course at any time using their username and password.

The NCASS Level 3 Food Safety Course is intended for Management and Supervisory staff in the catering and retail food sectors.

Course Aims:The aim of the NCASS Level 3 Food Safety in Catering is to provide a knowledge and understanding of food safety principles and practices for supervisors / business owners working the in the catering and retail food sectors.
Course Outcomes:
A knowledge and understanding of compliance within the relevant food safety legislation.
A knowledge and understanding of monitoring and recording good hygiene practices.
The manager's or supervisor's role in the implementation of food safety management procedures and systems.
Understanding the importance of staff training and the manager's or supervisor's role.
Course Details:
The course should take approx 8-12hrs to complete, it is broken down into 20 modules each of which is tested with multi choice questions before moving on to the next module.
There is no time limit, the tests can be taken as many times as necessary to get all the answers correct, then you will able to move onto the next section.
The questions are drawn at random from a bank and may vary each time the test is taken.
Candidates must answer all questions correctly to be awarded the certificate.
The certificate is valid for 3 years.
