This is a self assessment programme and is designed so that the student learns through carefully structured text.

Special needs students
Where a student has difficulties with reading, they are able to attempt the course with the active support of a NCASS member. It is necessary for the member to confirm that they will go through the complete programme with the student and where necessary enter the student's answers in to the exercises and questions.

Certification
Certificates are time limited to three years.

Names on certificates
Certificates will be printed with the first name and surname of the successful students. No titles, i.e. Dr, Mr, Ms, Mrs, or Miss will be included on the certificate.

Certificates with names that are incorrectly printed must be returned to NCASS for a new certificate to be issued. If the correct information was supplied on the registration or validation form, this will be supplied free of charge. If the information was incorrect, then a written explanation must be provided to NCASS and a charge of £10 for an amended certificate will be made. The Board of NCASS reserves the right not to issue an amended certificate.

Additional and replacement certificates
Due to the arrangements that many the industry operates under, the Board appreciates that in some instances there is a need for a student to be provided with more than one certificate e.g. works from two units. Therefore copies of the original certificate can be ordered. Where an order is made at the time of registration or validation there is a charge of £10 for each additional certificate. Where the request for additional certificates is received after despatch of the original then the charge is £15 per certificate. Where the original certificate is lost then a replacement certificate will be issued by NCASS on payment of £15

Ownership of the certificate
Regardless of who pays for a student to undertake the course the certificate is the property of the student unless it is recalled by NCASS.

The Board of NCASS reserves the right to recall any certificate issued by the Association.

Names on certificates - What if?
Q. What if, in the future, the student marries and changes their name?

Additional Certificates
A coding system identifies that duplicate or replacement certificates were issued.
