Who is the level 2 food hygiene course online intended for?
Staff who prepare or handle food open high risk foods, must have training to a level equivalent to the NCASS level 2 within 3 months of starting work. Aim of the course:
The overall aim of 'hygiene awareness instruction' is to develop a knowledge of the basic principles of food hygiene. Topics covered:
- Food poisoning
- Cleaning
- Refuse
- Pest Control
- Health & safety
- Safe food handlers
- Safe food handling
- The law
- HACCP – Food safety risk assessment
- COSHH - Risk assessment
Delivery method: This is an online course presented in 7 modules.
Duration:
4 - 4 1/2 hours to complete.
Learning outcome:
By the end of the course students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of food poisoning, cleaning, refuse, pest control, health & safety, safe food handlers, safe food handling, legislation, the law, HACCP – food safety risk assessment, COSHH - risk assessment.
Assessment criteria:
The 20 minute online exam consists of 20 multiple choice questions covering the topics taught in the course. The pass mark is 15 correct answers (75%).
Certificate:
A4 sized colour laminated certificate with photo embedded.
Certificate delivery: 5 -7 working days by first class post.
